The Rees-Fairbanks Facial Measurement Gauge for Optical use in Frame Fitting. Condition is used with minor defects, these do not affect accuracy. Designed by Paul Fairbanks of City University, this gauge is essential for optical students for exam purposes, and also for selection, specification and final fitting of spectacle frames. This compliments the frame measurement gauge. The scales are graded at 2 and 5mm for the accuracy required in exams and in practice.
The photocopied manual included gives instructions with photos and includes the following measurements:
Interpupillary distance; Distance between rims; Frontal angle; Headwidth; Temple width; Crest height (Height of bridge); Apical radius; Distance between rims (Base) at 10 and 15 below crest; Front to bend; Angel of side; Downward angle of drop; Splay angle; Segment height; Segment top position.
